Attention-Defecit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that impacts functioning adults. In the UK, NICE NG87 (2018) provides a comprehensive framework for the diagnosis and management of ADHD. Despite increased awareness, gaps remain in recognition, especially in women, and those with co-occurring mental health conditions - highlighting the need for better training and service provision.

This course is led by Dr Dheeraj Chaudhary, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, Priory Healthcare, and aims to provide an up-to-date, clinically relevant overview of ADHD in Adulthood with a focus on assessment, diagnostic challenges, and comorbidities. It will cover DIVA-5, explore differential diagnoses and touch on cultural, neurobiological, and psychosocial aspects of ADHD. The workshop will also highlight considerations for treatment and management. You will talk about learnings from real cases.

After attending this course, delegates will gain...

  • Enhanced diagnostic confidence.
  • Awareness of comorbidities.
  • Increased knowledge about treatment modalities.

Dr Chaudhary is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist working for Priory Healthcare. He is an executive committee member of Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Disorders Special Interest Group (NDPSIG) of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
