This online seminar (from 1st to 3rd March; afternoons and evenings to accommodate the different time zones between the US and UK) will focus on components of the Integrated Model of Interpreting in a low stress, highly interactive environment. Participants will learn how to convey equivalent messages by working through graduated texts and activities. By working on skills in small-group formats (pairs or triads), participants will develop tools for understanding and improving their own internal processes. Participants will also develop the language necessary to discuss the interpreting task with each other and integrate strategies for continuing their own improvement. Practice materials will be interpreted from BSL into English. This seminar is designed for interpreters working with Deaf CAMHS or Mental Health settings or wishing to work within these settings. All practice is done in this consecutive mode. Betty is a well-respected interpreter who has written and trained extensively on the subject of Integrated Model of Interpreting. It is a privilege to welcome her and her colleagues in providing this ‘UK Special Seminar’ for Deaf CAMHS (North). After attending this course delegates will have a:
