Section 12 Induction

Presented by the Andrew Sims Centre’s established Mental Health Law multi-professional training team.This course has been accredited by the North of England Approvals Panel (NEAP) for practitioners requiring approval for the first time under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act and is valid for those attending from other parts of England. After you have attended this course you will be able to: 

Apply for Section 12 approval through your local approvals office.
Understand current developments in mental health legislation and apply this knowledge practically to your clinical work. This course is designed for doctors who wish to apply for Section 12 approval in England. It is not appropriate for those planning to work as a Section 12 Approved doctor in Wales. Attendance at this course is only one part of the approval process. Please contact your local S12/AC Administrator for full criteria for approval, and how to apply.

This course starts promptly at 9.30am and finishes at 4.45pm. You must attend the whole course to be entitled to a certificate of attendance which will be accepted as proof of completion of a Section 12 Induction course.
