Led by Dr Helen Miles, this two day course will teach you to use the Risk for Sexual Violence Protocol. You will study the professional judgement approach of assessing the risk of sexual violence. You will learn to create plans to prevent sexual violence, studying two practice cases. You will asses the risk an individual poses of sexual offending for a number of different contexts, such as preparing reports for sentencing, making decisions about the management of mentally disordered offenders, including restricted patients, and managing sexual offenders in the community through Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements.

The course will introduce you to the Structured Professional Judgement method of risk assessment and will teach how to undertake an RSVP assessment specifically.
