Those working in the field of forensic mental health will be working with clients who have committed sexual offences. The session aims to consider issues related to risk assessment and management of clients who have committed this type of offence. We will then focus on what is currently known about those who commit offences via the Internet, elderly sexual offenders and also those who present a long term risk.
Dr Louise Tansey, Dr Elizabeth Flynn and Dr Alex Quinn, intend covering the process of risk assessment in relation to sexual offending and to also consider the literature around the area of recidivism. We also intend to discuss the available literature on internet offending, older adult sexual offenders, high risk offenders and implications of this for management.
