The rise of mental distress in modern day medical student has been noticed, as more young people struggle to keep up with the demands of their busy lives whilst dealing with complex issues, including mental illness. Dr Dominique Thompson, GP & Student Mental Health Expert at Buzz Consulting, will be teaching these sessions that include examples from her professional life and is finely tuned to be of practical use to those currently working or studying at university.
Delegates will build their confidence to understand what mental health in young people can look like, what to say to be supportive and show compassion, how to be of practical support, whilst also learning about how best to look after their own mental health and wellbeing in challenging times. You will have the opportunity to interact and ask questions as well as discuss case studies together, taken from Dominique’s vast experience of young adult care. Students will learn about their own wellbeing, and staff about how to care for students and themselves.
