Masterclass: Medical Revalidation Ready Appraisal Training

Those registered with the GMC are required to engage in an annual medical appraisal and provide supporting information and reflections in order to demonstrate that they remain up to date and fit to practise. This workshop will review the GMC’s Good Medical Practice Guidance for Appraisal and Revalidation, the GMC’s Supporting Information for Appraisal and Revalidation, NHS England’s Medical Appraisal Guide in order to help doctors to understand how to present supporting information for appraisal with the aim of successfully navigating the medical appraisal process and moving towards successful Revalidation by the GMC.

Dr Douglas Fraser and Gina White, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, will cover the key principles of appraisal by looking in some detail at the GMC’s Good Medical Practice Guidance for Appraisal and Revalidation, Supporting Information for Appraisal and Revalidation and the Medical Appraisal Guide. This will help doctors to understand the key principles of medical appraisal and how to prepare for medical appraisal and successfully negotiate their first Revalidation with the GMC.
