9.00am Registration, 9.30am Welcome and 4.30pm Close
Led by Dr Jacqueline Lynch, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and registered manager for Chrysalis Associates, this talk will look at case studies of children and teenagers who have experienced developmental trauma and look at how EMDR could be an effective intervention method for them. It is not EMDR with children training or EMDR training, but an overview of how EMDR can be embedded into clinical practice. We will cover a brief overview of EMDR (previous knowledge will be presumed), overview of trauma, post trauma symptoms as exhibited in children, and how this differs from adults and creative strategies to integrate EMDR into therapy using case studies.
After attending this course delegate will be able to:
- Identify the symptoms of trauma in children and adolescents
- Identify which client would benefit from EMDR
- Work creatively with their own therapy model to integrate EMDR into their practice
